Pricing Strategist – Group Pricing
Do you want to combine commercial strategy, advanced analytics and technology—and see your work influence pricing decisions across a SEK 55 billion Nordic business?
Pricing Strategist – Group Pricing
Help shape how the leading Nordic distributor takes pricing decisions—and turn complex data into measurable commercial impact.
About Ahlsell
Ahlsell is the leading B2B distributor of technical products in the Nordics serving a broad customer base across industry, infrastructure and installation. As a multi-vertical specialist, the company has an annual turnover of around SEK 55 billion and operates with more than 7,000 employees, 300 branches, and a well-established digital platform. Ahlsell delivers on its customer promise – to make it easier to be professional – every day, while also being a leader in sustainability with a clear vision to build a more sustainable society.
Ahlsell AB is a Swedish company owned by CVC Capital Partners.
The opportunity
Pricing is one of Ahlsell’s most important commercial levers. We are now undertaking a Group-wide transformation of how we enable and execute pricing across our Nordic markets—strengthening the structures, tools and decision support needed to price effectively.
Our Pricing 2.0 Program is a central part of Ahlsell’s strategic agenda to reach our 2030 goals. The first phase—introducing new pricing tools and advanced analytics for product managers—has been successfully launched. We are now entering the next, more commercially visible phase: bringing advanced pricing-decision support to our sales organization.
As Pricing Strategist, you will be a core member of the Group Pricing Team and take ownership of important workstreams within this transformation. You will work at the intersection of commercial strategy, advanced analytics, technology and organizational change.
This is not a role where the work ends with an analysis or presentation. You will help define the problem, develop the pricing logic, shape the tools, test solutions with users and drive implementation across the business.
You will work closely with Group and country management teams, pricing specialists, sales teams, product managers and external system partners. Your work will influence real commercial decisions across our Nordic markets.
What you will do
Drive the Pricing 2.0 transformation
- Own and drive selected workstreams from initial problem definition through development, implementation and continuous improvement.
- Develop and refine pricing logic, decision rules, analytical models and commercial recommendations.
- Translate complex commercial challenges into scalable and practical solutions.
- Work directly with sales teams, product managers and other end users to understand their needs and translate them into system and interface requirements.
- Partner with pricing-system suppliers and internal stakeholders to maximize the commercial value of Ahlsell’s pricing tools.
- Coordinate testing, implementation and rollout activities together with country pricing teams.
- Monitor adoption, business impact and user feedback, and use these insights to improve the solutions.
Generate actionable commercial insight
- Analyze margin performance, pricing behavior and commercial outcomes to identify opportunities and risks.
- Build a deep understanding of Ahlsell’s margin drivers, customer dynamics and pricing mechanisms.
- Develop robust analytical models that convert large and complex datasets into clear, actionable insights.
- Advise Group and country management teams on pricing- and margin-related questions.
- Present findings and recommendations in a clear, fact-based and decision-oriented way.
Why this role stands out
The role offers an uncommon combination of strategic exposure and hands-on implementation. You will have the opportunity to:
- Work on a high-priority transformation with direct attention from senior management and Ahlsell’s owners.
- Influence a critical commercial capability in a complex, data-rich business.
- Build solutions that will be used in everyday customer and sales decisions—not simply produce recommendations.
- Work across strategy, analytics, technology, user experience and change management.
- Collaborate with teams and decision-makers across the Nordic region.
- Develop rapidly by working on difficult, commercially important problems with a high degree of responsibility.
The role is particularly well suited to someone who enjoys solving complex problems, challenging established assumptions and seeing ideas move all the way from analysis to implementation.
About you
You are a structured and intellectually curious problem-solver with strong commercial judgment. You enjoy working with data, but you are equally comfortable discussing recommendations with senior stakeholders or working directly with end users.
You can move between detailed analysis and the broader commercial picture. You quickly identify the key drivers of a problem, communicate your conclusions clearly and turn analysis into practical action.
You are also comfortable working in an evolving environment where not every answer is predefined. You take ownership, bring structure to ambiguity and build trust with people across different functions, seniority levels and markets.
Experience and capabilities
We expect that you have:
- Typically two to four years of relevant experience from management consulting, pricing, commercial excellence, business controlling, strategy, business development or a similar analytical role.
- Strong analytical, modeling and problem-solving capabilities.
- Experience working efficiently with large and complex datasets.
- Hands-on experience with analytical tools such as Excel data models, Power Query / Pivot, SQL, Data Bricks, Python or comparable tools.
- The ability to translate complex analysis into clear commercial recommendations.
- Strong stakeholder-management and communication skills.
- Sound financial literacy and a good understanding of commercial value drivers.
- The ability to learn a complex business quickly and understand its key operational drivers, constraints and ways of working.
Experience in one or more of the following areas is an advantage:
- Pricing, revenue management or margin optimization.
- B2B distribution, wholesale, construction, installation or another related industry.
- Software or digital-product development.
- Programming / AI, UX/UI design, quality assurance or agile development.
Organization and key relationships
In this role you will:
- Report to the Group Pricing Manager – Fredrik Bois.
- Be part of the Group Pricing Team within Ahlsell’s Program Management Office and broader Group Finance organization.
- Work closely with Group and country management teams.
- Collaborate extensively with country pricing teams, sales organizations, product managers and system suppliers.
Location
The role is based at Ahlsell’s office in Marievik, Stockholm. Travel is limited, with occasional meetings and workshops at other Ahlsell offices across the Nordic region.
